SCHEDULE

The STAR Hockey Academy experience offers an ideal balance for families with our scheduling, combined with a competitive program environment and detailed development model for our student athletes. All education and athletic programming is conducted between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm on weekdays, with game play scheduled on and around weekends. In order to facilitate this experience, student athletes attending STAR will attend one of our private partner schools in St. Bernadette’s Middle School or Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien Washington. Academic programming is delivered in the morning, with athletic programming delivered by STAR in the afternoon at Kent Valley Ice Centre. Transportation between schools and Kent Valley Ice Centre is provided on a daily basis.

Our season schedule includes a blend of CSSHL games, showcase game, tournament games, and exhibition matches.  Game time length is 2.25 hours, which includes 20 minutes periods, intermission ice-cleans, and an overtime/shoot-out to determine a winner, if necessary.  Game play is scheduled on and around weekends, to minimize disruption to your weekday family and education schedule. Combining game play with our student athlete development model, and our student athletes will receive over 500 hours of dedicated hockey development and coaching per season. Our season is comprehensive and runs from September through mid-June. More information on the CSSHL can be found here.

On-ice coaching, video coaching, specialty skills and position coaching, off-ice training, and game play is included in our all-encompassing student athlete development model. Additionally, STAR Academy facilitates motorcoach, hotel, and meal arrangements when traveling for our team games, showcases, tournaments, and events.
